Find three of landscape photos by any photographer. Take each of those photos and draw them, with color (crayon, colored pencil, pastels or sharpi) , with your best drawing skills. The pictures have to cover at least 1/2 of the page. bring each of your photos with 2-3 paragraphs (for each photo) on what you did, how you did it and whether you liked it or not.

Ian Cameron

By Ellie Morrow

Ian Cameron was born and raised in Dartford, Kent. He would always try to get away from his city into a quieter and peaceful place. He had always been outside looking at all of the beautiful nature and one day decided to start photography. He got better and better every picture he took. After a while from when he started photography he decided to by some round the world tickets. He went all around the world for two years.

Ian Cameron Loves to shoot landscape photography. He believes that, “The essence of landscape photography boils down to three things: composition, timing and light.” Ian Cameron has been to many different countries to do photo shoots some are, Scotland, England and Africa! The main country he shoots in, is Scotland. He loves the wilder regions of Scotland.

After Ian came back from the traveling experience he decided that London was not where he wanted to be. He moved to the northern part of Scotland with his wife, and now he has 2 infant children. He is liking where he lives a lot and is very content with the beauty and landscape of his city. He believes that Scotland is more beautiful than any other country he has been to. Ian does want to travel around the world again sometime. Right now he says its not the right time.

When Ian takes the photograph he tries recreate the the image. He tries to make it look like you were standing right next to him, looking at the same thing, from the same view. He makes the photographs look like there is nothing between you and the photograph. It’s like you would be able to step through and touch the landscape. Ian believes that the best photographs are when you can use your senses to know you are there.

Ian has three tips for you when you shoot photography. The first one is, you have to enjoy your photos. You have to shoot stuff that you like and not think of what others might think of the photos. You are never going to make everybody happy with your pictures. The second one is, your pictures don’t always have to be original. You don’t have to make pictures look there best by adding stuff to it to make it original. You can just let it be and it will be liked by many. The last tip is, you don’t have to go out and look for your own style to shoot. A style will find you.

Ian’s artwork now is in books, calendars and even some christmas cards. And of course he has many photos laying around. Ian has pictures and written articles in every photographic magazine in the UK! Ian’s goal is to publish one or two books all about the beauty and detail of Scotland.

This picture I did the magic wand tutorial on. I selected the flower and made it brighter so it would stand out and then I blurred the background.

This picture I thought was really cool because of all the different trees and colors. I cropped this image. I also made the pink tree brighter.

This picture is a medium shot. I took it of a tree. I made the green leaves darker and sharpened it. I also cropped it.

This picture is also of leaves changing colors. I made the two leaves that are red brighter and the others darker. I like all the different colors.

This picture is of two flowers and one is dead. I sharpened the image and made the background darker.

This picture is of two different kinds of leaves. There both changing colors so I took a picture. I brightened them so they would stand out.
